Cleopatra- in SPAAAAAAACE!

Last week, I have been given the privilege by my friend Mike Maihack to sketch a pinup of the space-faring, butt-kicking adventuress Cleo who graces the panels of his weekly webcomic, Cleopatra in Spaaaaace! If you have not read it before, you should. It's a good'n--> [clicky]
It's gonna be released as a physical graphic novel soon, and be sure to get your hands on a copy!

Ooh, great colour choices and textures! I also really like the pointy shapes you've used in certain areas - nice one Jez!

speaking as someone who has trouble coming up with ideas.... where do you find the inspiration for these great little character vignettes? I would think they'd be great ways to keep your skills sharp!

So lovely! Yay! Your batgirl is really beautiful too... I thought I had your blog in my google reader, but I see I've missed so many new illustrations, so I guess I don't. Adding it now. :)

George, Mauricio, Ingvard, Andi- Thanks so much you guys :) I'm glad you dig it

Logan- Think of it this way: it's not that you don't have any ideas, its more like you have a ton of ideas that need to come out. Like Norman Rockwell for instance. I read in his biography (which all of you should read :P) that whenever he has a creative block, he would start doodling a street lamp, and from there he would add characters or whatever doing things around it- up until that moment of inspiration comes. So my advice is- just draw draw draw, even if the doodles don't look so good. (who cares really, since nobody else is gonna see it) So keep truckin' \m/>_<

Sarah- Thanks so much Sarah! It's great to have your seal of approval :D

Louise- Thanks! You're the bestest! :P
